A Ride For My Dad
Story
By participating in the Memory Cycle, my aim is to raise vital funds for research into neurodegenerative diseases such as Motor Neurone Disease (MND) and many forms of dementia studied at NeuRA. You can follow my journey by checking out my blog- http://memorycycle-arideformydad.tumblr.com/
MND is a vicious disease that attacks the nerve cells (motor neurons) that enable you to speak, swallow, move and breathe. Sufferers may only have a lifespan of 2-5 years from onset as the disease rapidly forces the muslces to waste away.
NeuRA researchers have been studying (MND) to help gain an understanding into why the neurons die. A drug trial is in the process to hopefully slow down the progression of this horrible disease and find a cure and prevention in the future. Every dollar you geniously give will go towards slowing down the progression of MND, and lead to an eventual cure and prevention.
These breakthroughs are only made possible with the support of people just like you.
